Hi there ....

I have had many requests to post more information about porcelain painting, and how to's regarding painting and the other creative pursuits I do as well.  So, I will be posting short videos on some techniques, as well as reviews of my own paintings and painting processes...as well as of friend's artworks :).  Thanks for the feedback! :)

This post is about how I designed a brilliant white, small pitcher with hand painted grapes, using lustres.  I loved the shape and translucency of this small pitcher.  I didn't want to do a vintage china painting style or meissen style painting on this vase, but I still wanted to complement the style of the pitcher.  So I thought of sticking to an old world style design, but modernising it.

I didn't want a coloured background so that meant that the design and colours needed to be strong in order to contrast with the brilliant white of the porcelain.

So, what to paint?

  1. Hello Ingrid,

I would like to put you a little question:It would be possible that your blog can be translated into French?? I admit that your articles concerning the painting on china me interhook quite particularly but I am sometimes sad with the translation!!

The ideal would be to be able to read to you also in French!!!

All my best regards of France.

    • Hi Arlette, thanks for that…I just assumed that google added an automatic translator, but I think that’s only for blogger blogs. So I’ve just installed a plugin translator. THanks so much for the feedback. Let me know how you go!! Ingrid :)
